About The Position

SailGP is seeking a high-performing Marketing and Communications Associate to join our Americas Marketing and Communications team. This is a 7-month contract with the exciting potential to transition into a full-time position for the right candidate. It’s a rare opportunity for an early career professional to step into the global spotlight and help shape the future of one of the fastest-growing sports and entertainment properties. Reporting dually to the Head of Communications and Senior Marketing Manager in the Americas region, you’ll support the planning and execution of high-impact marketing and communications campaigns across the U.S., Canada, and Brazil — with more markets to follow as SailGP grows. Your work will help drive brand awareness, fan engagement, media coverage, ticket sales, and broadcast viewership. This is a fast-paced, high-ownership role built for someone ready to take the next leap in their career and make a meaningful mark in global sports.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in agency, brand, or marketing and communications — with a passion for sport, entertainment, and culture.
  • Strong project management skills and exceptional attention to detail, with a proven track record of keeping multiple workstreams on track and on time.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; confident collaborating with creatives, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • A self-starter mentality with a bias for action and a collaborative spirit.

Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of integrated, multi-channel marketing and communications campaigns that drive ticket sales, media coverage, fan engagement, and brand awareness across SailGP events, contributing inspiration and best practices informed by market research, the current newscycle and cultural trends.
  • Coordinate campaign & project timelines, deliverables, and approvals to ensure efforts launch on time and deliver against key event & annual KPIs.
  • Support grassroots marketing and strategic partnership activations across priority markets — from planning through on-the-ground delivery.
  • Support on-site or remotely at SailGP events across the Americas region, assisting with marketing, media operations and media inquiries.
  • Assist in building targeted audience segments and databases to engage SailGP’s core and growth audiences effectively.
  • Support performance tracking and reporting, including post-campaign and event wrap reports.
  • Draft creative briefs that inspire through best practices and culture trends to help shape standout work.
  • Collaborate with creative teams, internal stakeholders, and external strategic partners to review assets, ensure timely approvals, and manage the day-to-day delivery of campaign materials across channels.
  • Maintain and organize a comprehensive library of marketing and communications assets for external stakeholder and media use.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive media lists of journalists across the Americas region.
  • Coordinate submissions for industry conferences and awards, ensuring timely delivery of all required materials and documentation.
  • Assist with drafting press releases, media advisories and external communications.
  • Support pitching local, sports and trade media on the latest league storylines and news.
  • Monitor media coverage and compile reports to assess and showcase the impact of communications initiatives.
  • Serve as a central point of support between the Americas Marketing and Communications team and cross-functional departments (Procurement, Finance, and Legal).
  • Manage administrative processes including raising purchase orders, tracking invoices, and supporting contract execution.
  • Coordinate internal communications for the business as needed.
  • Coordinates all flight activity with exceptional accuracy and attention to timing.
  • Maintains clear and professional communication with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and travellers.
  • Proactively looks ahead to upcoming events and travel windows, raising flight planning considerations in advance.
  • Ensures that all flight-related records and data are maintained in a way that is auditable, reportable, and current.
  • Escalates issues promptly and constructively, contributing to a solutions-focused team environment.
  • Supports continuous improvement in how SailGP books, tracks, and evaluates flight operations.
  • Demonstrates discretion, reliability, and integrity in handling sensitive travel data and decision-making.
