Data & Analytics leverages business intelligence gained through advanced data analytics in order to maximize AARP's marketing and communications results. This includes using data science, data engineering, predictive modeling, and market analytics to guide data driven decision making. The Marketing Analytics Intern will support the development of a data‑driven forecasting model to improve planning and decision‑making across select membership channels. This role exists to apply analytical and forecasting techniques to real‑world marketing data and translate insights into actionable channel strategy. The position is unique in its combination of hands‑on modeling, strategic thinking, and cross‑functional collaboration, offering exposure to both advanced analytics and business impact. This paid internship is for Summer 2026.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college or university and classified as a rising undergraduate junior or senior, graduate student, or post‑doctoral student at the time of application
  • Foundational knowledge of statistical analysis, forecasting concepts, and data modeling techniques
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools such as Excel and at least one programming language (e.g., Python or R)
  • Experience working with structured datasets and performing data validation, exploratory analysis, and basic visualization
  • Familiarity with performance metrics and model evaluation concepts (e.g., forecast accuracy, error measurement)
  • Regular and reliable job attendance
  • Exhibit respect and understanding of others to maintain professional relationships
  • In office/open office environment with the ability to work effectively surrounded by moderate noise

Nice To Haves

  • Marketing Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline
  • Exposure to time‑series forecasting, demand modeling, or marketing analytics use cases
  • Experience using SQL, business intelligence tools, or analytics platforms
  • Coursework or project experience applying analytical methods to real-world business problems
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to translate analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for non‑technical audiences

Responsibilities

  • Analyze historical order, customer, and channel performance data to identify trends, seasonality, and key demand drivers
  • Develop and evaluate channel‑level order forecasting models using appropriate analytical techniques
  • Validate and refine forecasts through back‑testing and performance measurement
  • Translate forecast outputs into actionable insights to support channel planning and strategy
  • Document forecasting methodology, assumptions, and findings for reuse and knowledge transfer
  • Present results and strategic recommendations to marketing and analytics stakeholders at the conclusion of the internship
