About The Position

Mid-Ohio Food Collective (MOFC) is looking for a Market Specialist to work at our Mid-Ohio Market located at 4041 Gantz Road in Grove City. As a Market Specialist, under the general supervision of the Market Manager, you will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of our Market. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 8:30am - 5pm.

Requirements

  • Education and Certifications: High School Diploma/GED required. Food Safety Certification (provided by Mid-Ohio Food Collective).
  • Experience: Experience working in a food pantry, market, or grocery store is preferred.
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must have strong customer service and communication skills. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Ability to work effectively and efficiently both independently and in a team environment.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of temperatures and conditions as some duties are performed outdoors.
  • Must be able to perform moderate to heavy physical labor (lift 30 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally). Daily walking, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling (300 lbs. with use of manual or electric pallet jack). Frequent standing, walking, lifting, carrying, and reaching.
  • Mid-Ohio Food Collective is a drug-free workplace.
  • Successful candidate must be able to pass standard background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Prep and stage produce pallets for the Market floor.
  • Organize and manage product movement of Market inventory.
  • Maintains produce cooler.
  • Ensure all produce is pulled and organized before bringing it to the Market floor.
  • Provide quality checks of all food products as often as possible.
  • Use equipment to retrieve pallets from freezer/cooler storage area.
  • Assist and directs volunteers as needed.
  • Check-in customers using TablesReady.
  • Register customers into the Pantrytrak system.
  • Provide assistance to Market customers regarding parking rules.
  • Periodically patrol parking lot to ensure parking rules are being followed.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following safety practices and policies.
  • Participate in special projects as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.
