About The Position

The Distribution Partnerships team oversees $2B of the company's annual revenue and is responsible for all aspects of Online Travel Agents (OTAs), Travel Management Companies (TMCs), leisure agencies, wholesalers, consortia, Global Distribution Systems (GDS), and Online Booking Tools (OBTs). As an individual contributor and reporting within the sales division, this role will report to the Senior Director, Distribution Partnerships. The Specialist, Market Research, will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company's competitive placement through third-party partners and general market conditions.

Requirements

  • 2+ years' experience in Revenue Management, Distribution, or other analytical position
  • Bachelor's level degree required, Advanced degree strongly preferred; field of study in Economics, Hospitality Management, Aviation Management, MBA, Travel-related field, or similar highly desired.
  • Proficiency in Tableau, Databricks, Teradata, or other data querying tools
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across multiple functions and locations
  • Experience using large datasets to understand trends and identify opportunities.
  • Motivated, self-starter with intellectual curiosity
  • Familiarity with Hertz systems and complexities to institute change
  • Ability to bring collaborators together for a common mission
  • Experience presenting data in an actionable format with clear and concise next steps
  • Excellent organization, time management, delegation, prioritization skills, and accountability

Responsibilities

  • Monitor third-party and competitive distribution channels (direct websites, apps, and other booking sources), both manually and automated through data, to determine our brand product displays, accuracy of information, merchandising, labeling, review scores, positioning in sort order and new competitor products.
  • Report changes that occur and adjustments that are needed for Hertz to become more competitive.
  • Collecting, analyze, and interpret data to provide actionable insights that support strategic decision-making; make recommendations for new products or adjustments as necessary.
  • Provide detail and thorough research of all areas of marketplace conditions.
  • Liaise with internal departments including Revenue Management, Technology, Product, Marketing, and others to support decision making and changes as needed to ensure our data feed to partners is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Partner with rate canvassing providers to obtain market data
  • Lead and/or support project status meetings, create schedules, identify potential issues, and ensure on-time delivery of projects.
  • Provides clear and actionable updates to leadership on project implementations and commercial objectives.
