Market Operations Intern, Summer 2026 (Hybrid)
About The Position
MEMX is seeking a Market Operations Intern to support the daily operations of our U.S. equities and options exchange. This role offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced, data-driven environment where you’ll learn how trading systems are monitored, how client requests are managed, and how our team works to maintain the reliability of the exchange. This internship position will be offered as hybrid with 2 days in-person at our co-working office in midtown-NYC. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in trading operations, data analytics, or finance to develop real-world skills in market structure and operations. MEMX currently has a U.S. presence in these states: California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, & Utah.
Requirements
- Current undergraduate student (junior or senior) pursing a degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Economics, Finance or a related field
- Strong interest in financial markets and how trading exchanges operate
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Analytics mindset with basic familiarity in Excel, SQL, Python, or other data tools (preferred, not required)
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn new concepts
- Preference for candidates who live in the NYC/NJ area

- Analytics mindset with basic familiarity in Excel, SQL, Python, or other data tools (preferred, not required)

Responsibilities
- Support the Market Operations team in monitoring trading activity and system health in real time
- Help triage and log support tickets for member requests and inquiries
- Assist in gathering and analyzing operational data to identify trends or potential issues
- Participate in projects focused on improving internal workflows and risk monitoring
- Collaborate with internal teams to document and communicate operational updates
