About The Position

Reporting to the Sales Channel Strategy Manager, the Market Manager is responsible for driving market penetration growth within a defined geographic footprint. This role is accountable for moving penetration from current levels (e.g., ~30%) to target levels (40%+) by orchestrating all sales and marketing activities at a local level. The Market Manager operates as the “general manager” of their territory, leveraging data, cross-functional teams, and local market intelligence to coordinate highly targeted campaigns that convert neighborhoods, not just individual homes. Success in this role requires a balance of data-driven decision making, field execution, and cross-functional leadership to create density, accelerate referrals, and establish telMAX as the default provider within each community.

Requirements

  • Data-Driven Operator: Comfortable using data to drive decisions and prioritize actions
  • Strategic Executor: Able to translate strategy into coordinated field execution
  • Cross-Functional Leader: Influences without direct authority across multiple teams
  • Field-Oriented: Strong presence in-market with high situational awareness
  • Commercially Focused: Understands unit economics (CPA, churn, ROI)
  • Problem Solver: Identifies barriers quickly and implements practical solutions
  • 3–7 years experience in roles involving: Market development, sales strategy, or operations Data-driven planning and execution
  • Experience working across multiple functions or channels
  • A valid G class Drivers Licence with a clean driving record.

  • Telecom, utilities, or subscription-based business experience is an asset
  • DCS / DEC (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for net penetration increase within assigned market
  • Develop and execute a market-specific growth strategy to move penetration toward 40%+
  • Identify and prioritize high-potential neighborhoods for targeted conversion
  • Coordinate deployment across Door-to-Door, Inside Sales, and Digital channels
  • Ensure sequenced and concentrated efforts
  • Trigger targeted campaigns (Saturation D2D pushes, Geo-targeted digital campaigns, Inside sales follow-ups on recent activity, Referral and incentive programs)
  • Utilize penetration heatmaps and performance data to identify conversion gaps and track neighborhood-level performance
  • Monitor competitive activity, pricing, and messaging within the market
  • Develop deep understanding of local barriers to conversion
  • Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, influencers, realtors, property managers, and community leaders
  • Activate hyper-local initiatives to increase brand presence and trust
  • Position telMAX as the preferred neighborhood network
  • Spend significant time (60–70%) in market validating execution of plans, gathering real-time insights and engaging directly with community stakeholders
  • Ensure alignment between strategy and on-the-ground execution
  • Track and report on: Penetration growth Conversion rates by channel Churn within market Referral contribution
  • Identify barriers and implement corrective actions quickly
