About The Position

Our Market Development Specialist will be accountable for researching packaging and retail market dynamics including customer needs, prospect lists, and value propositions as well as support the assigned Sales and Account Management teams in driving segment strategies to achieve sales and gross profit growth. This role will also support leaders recommending segment strategies including but not limited to researching verticals and leads, developing and design concepts, executing promotional campaigns, and core supplier compliance.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years marketing or kitting experience, agency experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong graphic and creative skills required.
  • Effective analytical skills.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • 1-3 years of related job experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills are required.
  • Experience with Salesforce.com or other CRM is preferred.
  • Must be highly motivated, flexible and deadline driven.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong planning and organization skills are required.
  • Strong problem-solving and attention to detail skills are required.
  • The ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Research and identify new product/service concepts for targeted verticals.
  • Provide data-driven ideas to secure new business and expand market reach.
  • Ensure implementation of strategic initiatives within assigned territories to meet sales and gross profit goals.
  • Maintain and share insights on retail and merchandising trends to uncover revenue opportunities.
  • Monitor competitor activities and provide feedback to leadership.
  • Lead ideation of rapid renderings and prototypes for client presentations.
  • Collaborate with design and creative teams to ensure visual assets align with brand standards and client expectations.
  • Basic graphic design application.
  • Align with the Marketing team to adapt presentations, collateral, web content, and social media messaging.
  • Coordinate use of corporate marketing tools (e.g., Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Zoom, social platforms).
  • Research trade shows and industry events for content development and brand visibility.
  • Submit proposals and prepare teams for speaking engagements and participation.
  • Oversee and adapt digital assets (DAM) and photography to support marketing and sales initiatives.
  • Ensure assets are current, accessible, and aligned with campaign goals.
