About the Role: Caterpillar Oil & Gas currently has an exciting opportunity for a Market Development Consultant – Program Management in Houston, Texas or Lafayette, Indiana. This role is primarily responsible for managing the execution of New Product Introduction (NPI) programs and related product marketing activities for the Production Power Generation segment of Oil & Gas. In this role you will be an integral part of the product strategy team responsible for delivering long-term sales growth in the form of new gas genset products and services for Oil & Gas. In addition, you will ensure that customer requirements are clearly defined and cascaded into technical program requirements, and you will work collaboratively with the product engineering teams to ensure that new products deliver the intended customer value and meet business unit strategic and financial objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide marketing leadership to New Product Introduction (NPI) teams focused on developing new power generation and electrification solutions for the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Be responsible for executing marketing activities for assigned NPI product programs, including but not limited to new natural gas gensets, electrification solutions, and power distribution control systems.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners, dealers, and customers to support NPI activities including product requirements management, competitive analysis, field test coordination, product pricing, forecasting, and marketing literature development.
  • Participate in regular meetings with customers, dealers, and commercial teams to gather market intelligence and understand Caterpillar’s position in the industry.
  • Gather voice of customer to understand customer buying behaviors, competitive issues, market service needs, and where Caterpillar can add value.
  • Act as a market segment advisor to commercial teams, dealers, and other process partners.
  • Define marketing communication priorities and work with the Marketing Communications team to create marketing materials and media for new product launches and marketing campaigns.
  • Guide the development and publication of technical marketing data, competitive analysis, and sales training materials needed to effectively sell new products.
