How you'll contribute: The Market Director of Nursing is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the delivery of quality general and psychiatric nursing care consistent with the facility's goals and objectives. Duties include staffing, training and development, revision of nursing policies and procedures, standards of performance, and communication regarding nursing issues to medical staff, department director's and administration.
Requirements
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Must possess a postgraduate degree in nursing or a related field; or the knowledge and skills associated with an advanced degree; or a written plan to obtain these qualifications. A related field may include healthcare administration or business administration.
- Current unencumbered license to practice by the State Board of Nursing.
- 1-year experience in a psychiatric health care facility preferred.
- CPR certification is required within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.
- De-escalation certification required within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.

Responsibilities
- Ensures compliance with state and federal regulation
- Enhance hospital visibility by involvement in community regarding mental health and substance abuse community needs.
- Supervises nursing management team.
- Functions as a liaison between physicians, patients, referral sources, and employees.
- Ensures that the inpatient programs are staffed with the appropriate resources to ensure high quality of nursing care delivery.
- Prepares monthly reports for PI and attends monthly PI and safety meetings.
- Oversee all patient satisfaction data and report the data monthly to PI committee.
- Acts as a role model for excellent customer service and holds all nursing staff to this standard.
