About The Position

Coastal Waste & Recycling is seeking a Market Area Controller to join our growing company! Your Role: The Market Area Controller is a key financial leader responsible for managing financial operations within a defined market area. This role leads financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis while partnering with operations to ensure efficiency, compliance, and sustainable profitability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • 8–10+ years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience
  • Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing accounting teams
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with financial/ERP systems
  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with operational leaders

Nice To Haves

  • CPA preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the market area
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and internal controls
  • Deliver financial insights, variance analysis, and KPIs to support strategic decision-making
  • Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes in collaboration with operations leadership
  • Monitor financial performance and recommend corrective actions
  • Analyze revenue, cost trends, and operational initiatives to improve profitability
  • Partner with operations to support route optimization and resource allocation strategies
  • Evaluate financial impact of operational changes and growth initiatives
  • Support internal and external audits and implement improvement recommendations
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals
  • Serve as a key financial partner to operations, sales, and compliance teams
