About The Position

Marine Technician (Mobile Boat Repair) Position Overview Delta Workforce is seeking a Marine Technician for a mobile boat repair company based in Southeast Michigan. The role focuses on on-site repairs of boats, with emphasis on stern drives, outboards, AC/DC electrical systems, air conditioning, generators, and diesel/gas engine work. This is a hands-on mobile service position in a small, experienced team environment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a marine technician or strong mechanical/electrical background (automotive experience considered)
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools and multimeters correctly
  • Reliable, dependable, and able to work independently or as part of a small team
  • Positive attitude and good interpersonal skills
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Marine-related certifications (MBIA or Macomb Community College Marine Tech certification) are highly valued but not required

Responsibilities

  • Perform mobile on-site boat repairs, including stern drive and outboard service, AC/DC electrical, air conditioning, generators, and engine maintenance
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on marine vessels
  • Complete routine maintenance such as oil changes and remove-and-replace repairs
  • Maintain service vehicles and shop areas (cleaning vans, sweeping, general upkeep)
  • Participate in daily morning job board meetings, typically starting between 8:00 AM and 8:30 AM
  • Work professionally on customer boats with care and respect
  • Collaborate with existing technicians on various repair tasks
