River Valley Marine of Rochester is looking for a Marine Technician to join a modern, well-equipped shop. This role is a great fit for experienced technicians from automotive, RV, or powersports backgrounds who are ready for a new challenge and a long-term career in the marine industry. Marine knowledge is beneficial, but not a deal-breaker. We invest in training and manufacturer education to help the right technician build marine-specific skills. Requirements

  • Has hands-on marine technician or marine mechanic experience or experience in related fields
  • Understands marine engines, electrical systems, rigging, and boat systems
  • Works well in a team-based shop environment
  • Is committed to doing the job right the first time
  • Takes pride in clean, accurate, and professional work
  • Is dependable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented

Nice To Haves

  • Marine, Auto, RV, or powersports technician experience (outboards, inboards, sterndrives)
  • Electrical and diagnostic troubleshooting skills
  • Manufacturer certifications or willingness to obtain them

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, service, and repair marine engines and systems
  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs
  • Rigging, winterization, spring run-ups, and seasonal service
  • Repair and install marine electronics, steering systems, bilge pumps, and charging systems
  • Test, repair, and lubricate engines and major components
  • Move boats, motors, trailers, and equipment using company vehicles, forklifts, and tractors
  • Work closely with service writers to complete repair orders accurately and on time
  • Use Lightspeed EVO and manufacturer service software
