About The Position

The Marine Project Engineer role is a critical role in a fast-paced environment, requiring the ability to balance technical expertise, organized planning, and disciplined execution of marine and infrastructure projects under pressure.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of project management experience in marine or civil infrastructure (not commercial building construction)
  • Strong working knowledge of marine construction methods including work from floating platforms and temporary work in water.
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Interest in marine, heavy civil, or environmental construction.
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to interface with owners, engineers, inspectors, and executive leadership.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word; exposure to AutoCAD or scheduling software is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to learn from field and office teams.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, field-oriented environment.
  • Willingness to work variable hours based on project schedules.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to safety and quality.

  • exposure to AutoCAD or scheduling software is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Project Managers and keep CEO and COO informed on project timelines and progress.
  • Lead full lifecycle management of marine and infrastructure projects executed on or overwater.
  • Define, generate, and review project requirements and work with team to schedule departments.
  • Develop work plans and hazard analysis to ensure safety and efficiency of entire scope of work.
  • Identify and coordinate solutions for all engineering, material and planning issues.
  • Work with purchasing department on vessel specific purchases needed which includes sourcing from appropriate vendors and arranging timely delivery.
  • Track, analyze and generate reports of project progress and productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory agencies.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of maintenance tasks for project equipment.
  • Monitor and adjust production schedules in real-time to address unforeseen issues, such as equipment failures or supply chain delays.
  • Coordinate the allocation of resources, including personnel, tools, equipment, and spare parts.
  • Supervise production planning and control staff, including schedulers, logistics coordinators, and administrative personnel, fostering a high-performance and collaborative work environment.
  • Monitor production progress against schedules, identifying and mitigating risks to ensure timely completion of maintenance and repair tasks. Implement control measures to optimize production efficiency, reduce waste, and maintain quality standards for equipment readiness. Conduct regular reviews of production metrics, such as cycle times, resource utilization, and equipment availability, to drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop and manage detailed project work plans, cost structures, baseline schedules, and recovery schedules.
  • Direct coordination between field leadership, engineering teams, subcontractors, and owners.
  • Maintain strict financial control including forecasting, cost tracking, productivity analysis, change management, and monthly owner billing.
  • Prepare and negotiate change orders and contract modifications in accordance with public infrastructure contract requirements.
  • Review and approve submittals, shop drawings, lift plans, and engineered marine work plans.
  • Support pursuit efforts including bid reviews, quantity takeoffs, pricing strategy, and risk evaluation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
