About The Position

Are you the right fit to be Valmet’s new Field Service Engineer in the Marine Industry? We are seeking an experienced Automation Service Engineer who will perform Services on Advanced Automation Systems on Marine / Cruise ship type going vessels. Provide day to day service for the marine customers on and offshore including emergency services globally. Execute small scale service add-ons and projects. Participate in DCS upgrades together with the product line and operations team. This position will be based in the Fort Lauderdale / Miami area, Florida. In this position you will have the following responsibilities: Provide Demand Services to ships visiting US and Caribbean ports. Most of the work will be completed while the ships are in service and Dry Docked. Inhouse software preparations. Execute upgrade projects together with Valmet's global marine teams. Provide customers with continual service and maintain customer relationships utilizing all required Valmet resources. Follow up with customers on any service project implementations to maintain high customer satisfaction. Uncover possible capital or service sales and report those to the sales team for follow through. Help to grow the overall marine business. Work with the local team and global team to provide 100% Customer satisfaction. Generate reports during service visit to document work accomplished and the value your service has provided for the customer. Perform other duties typical to this position. What You'll Need: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in automation, electrical or IT. Equivalent professional experience and competences will be considered. In depth experience in Valmet DNA and XDi systems is preferred, understanding of Marine applications and preferably years of experience working in Marine industry. Knowledge of instrumentation and installation of Marine automation systems. Knowledge of PLC programming and IT network. Candidates should show leadership skills, have experience with team building, expertise in troubleshooting, understanding the customers process with the Automation interaction, motivating others, and conflict resolution. We will be looking for someone who can show a high level of initiative, who can prioritize and multitask well, and who can build relationships with customers, co-workers, and international partners. Fluency in English is required, and other languages will be considered a plus. Finally, candidates must be willing and able to travel as needed, up to 75% of their time. Requirements
