About The Position

The MIWSFPA Ambassador will play an integral role within the department of Recruitment and Liaison Services' Campus Visit Program. The MIWSFPA Ambassador will be responsible for welcoming prospective students and their supporters to the Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts, as well as other guests or members of the University community. Ambassadors will be prepared to provide exceptional customer service and information regarding the Brock/MIWSFPA experience, general wayfinding, and MIWSFPA campus resources. The MIWSFPA Campus Visit program is instrumental in the post-secondary decision-making process. MIWSFPA Ambassadors enthusiastically communicate with prospective students and guests to ensure that the advantages of pursuing their post-secondary education at Brock/MIWSFPA are clearly demonstrated. This is a significant role as there is a growing importance and demand for MIWSFPA campus visits. It is essential that guests experience a positive on-campus visit and that the MIWSFPA Ambassador is equipped to offer a comprehensive tour and convey pertinent information effectively. The MIWSFPA Ambassador will welcome guests weekly and will conduct in-person and virtual campus tours of the MIWSFPA campus, introducing prospective students and their families to campus life at the MIWSFPA. They will collaborate with other departments regularly to ensure accurate information and adequate support is available to provide a complete and meaningful campus experience. The MIWSFPA Ambassador will represent Brock/MIWSFPA and the Student Recruitment team at various recruitment events including: Fall Preview Day, Open House, and participate in other undergraduate recruitment initiatives when necessary. Hours of operation and required availability include weekdays, and occasional evenings, weekends, and school breaks.

  • A love of Brock/MIWSFPA, including experience participating in a wide range of MIWSFPA related activities.

  • Knowledge of the MIWSFPA programs and student services available at Brock.

  • Must be able to legally work in Canada.
  • Must be an Undergraduate student at MIWSFPA/Brock University for the duration of the employment contract.
  • Must be able to attend in-person training from August 31st, 2026 to September 4th 2026 (8:30am-4:30pm)

Responsibilities

  • Greet and connect with campus visitors to ensure guests feel welcome and important.
  • Provide the utmost care and attention to guests to ensure their inquiries are addressed in an appropriate and professional manner.
  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge and understanding of MIWSFPA content, campus familiarity, and Brock on-campus services and resources.
  • Demonstrate superior professionalism and behavior that indicates a personal commitment to innovation, teamwork, flexibility, and integrity.
  • Convey a well-rounded student experience at all recruitment events to develop a strong rapport with prospective students.
  • Liaise with academic and student service departments at MIWSFPA.
  • Introduce prospective students and guests to the MIWSFPA community.
  • Support Group Visit Programming/MIWSFPA campus events (i.e. DART Invitational)
  • Deliver important information to prospective students and guests via the MIWSFPA campus tours (in-person and virtual), telephone and email, and one-on-one settings.
  • Lead regularly scheduled MIWSFPA campus tours (schedules are for an entire semester).
