Summary Richmond Middle School is seeking a creative, organized, and enthusiastic March is Reading Month Planner to lead the planning and coordination of schoolwide literacy activities for our middle school community. This role focuses on promoting a love of reading through engaging events, themed activities, and collaboration with staff during March is Reading Month. This position reports to Middle School Principal/Dean of Students Essential Duties and Responsibilities Plan, organize, and coordinate March is Reading Month activities appropriate for middle school students Develop a monthly calendar of events (e.g., themed spirit days, reading challenges, author spotlights, assemblies) Collaborate with teachers, media specialists, and administrators to integrate literacy activities into the school day Coordinate materials, schedules, and logistics for events and activities Promote events through announcements, flyers, newsletters, and digital platforms Support student engagement by encouraging participation across grade levels Assist with tracking participation and providing a brief summary of outcomes at the conclusion of the Supervisory Responsibilities The position is responsibility for the supervision of students (e.g. individual and small/large groups). In addition, the position may also supervise parents and volunteers with the educational setting or school sponsored events. Compute rates, ratios, and percentages as well as draw and interpret various graphs. Apply mathematical calculations and problem solving techniques in daily practical situations Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense knowledge and understanding of situations to carry out oral and written instructions. Utilizes situational awareness and reasoning to solve problems that involve few concrete variables in standardized situations. Other Skills and Abilities Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff, parents and community. Ability to perform duties with awareness of district requirements and Board of Education policies and administrative guidelines.
