The Master of Arts Program in the Humanities (MAPH) at the University of Chicago is designed to allow you the freedom to either focus on one academic discipline or explore interdisciplinary interests that may not fit well within a traditional MA program. That flexibility, combined with our strong support network, can help you take the next step in your professional and academic life in a short amount of time - more than 90% of our students graduate in 9 months. Reporting to the Associate Director and Manager of Student Affairs in MAPH, the Program Mentor supports the academic work of the students in our one- or two-year program through mentoring and advising; supports recruitment through individual communication with prospective students and through social media channels; supports and designs supplemental educational, career development, and social events. The MAPH community is collaborative and enthusiastic, and our success depends on the excellent work of our mentors. Together with the rest of the MAPH staff and preceptors, our mentors actively engage with and help approximately one hundred new graduate students. This is a one-year position starting July 1 through June 30 of the following year, with the possibility of renewal for one additional year depending on performance, budget, and operational need. If the position is not renewed, severance is not an option. Interested candidates please be sure to upload all required materials with your application and indicated in the job description.
