Responsible for process capability, cost reduction and continuous improvement project implementation within their designated manufacturing unit. Provides specific engineering work related to field of expertise with broad overlap between engineering disciplines expected. Support capacity planning and growth, as well as define budgeted rates and process documentation. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a critical role in driving process capability, cost reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives within your designated manufacturing unit. Your responsibilities will span across various engineering subject areas, requiring a broad and versatile skills.

  • Implementing and sustaining BD Excellence work process for the manufacturing unit.
  • Identifying critical equipment settings and creating standards to optimize performance and consistency.
  • Developing and transferring technical knowledge to operators and technical associates, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Coaching associates on continuous improvement methodologies, empowering them to identify and eliminate waste and inefficiencies.
  • Analyzing top losses within the manufacturing unit, developing and implementing plans to eliminate these losses and drive Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) performance.
  • Overseeing manufacturing unit change control, including validation activities, root cause analysis of prioritized OEE losses, quality events, and deviations.
  • Supporting capacity planning and growth initiatives, defining budgeted rates, and maintaining comprehensive process documentation.
  • Ensuring the safety of all associates and the quality of the products.
  • Ensuring new manufacturing processes and process improvements align with Manufacturing Unit objectives.
  • Ensuring equipment is running efficiently and optimally, maximizing uptime and productivity.
  • Analyzing the current state of equipment efficiency to drive OEE improvement and sustainability.
  • BA/BS Degree: required. Engineering, Mechanical Engineering field preferred
  • 3 years manufacturing experience or 2 years medical manufacturing experience desired
