About The Position

The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for supporting the Manufacturing Engineer in sustaining production and implementing process improvements. This role assists production by ensuring facilities, equipment, tooling, fixtures, materials, and documentation meet production and quality requirements. The technician also supports the transfer of new products and processes into production and helps identify and implement Lean manufacturing initiatives to create and maintain production flow, increase throughput, and decrease costs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in manufacturing process improvements and lean manufacturing concepts like 5S, and Value Stream Mapping
  • Associate degree in technical field (science, math, engineering or other related degree)
  • Manufacturing experience in Medical Devices, specifically Cardio-Vascular products

Responsibilities

  • Under the guidance of manufacturing engineering, provides support to production
  • Reviews and edits standard operating procedures, work instructions, forms, etc.
  • Participates in hands-on problem solving and resolution of product and/or process issues
  • Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment
  • Orders equipment and materials for production needs
  • Under the guidance of manufacturing engineering, provides support for the release of new products into production
  • Creates or revises standard operating procedures, work instructions, forms, etc. for production
  • Assists with production equipment layout and qualification
  • Trains production personnel on new products, processes, and equipment
  • Assists with pre-pilot and pilot orders to ensure production systems and processes are ready for high volume manufacturing
  • Under the guidance of manufacturing engineering, provides support with continuous improvement projects
  • Improves manufacturing processes through optimization of production processes, methods, and equipment
  • Assists with Lean manufacturing projects including 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Six Sigma, and Standardization
  • Reviews production data to identify trends and resolve yield issues
  • Assists with the cleaning, assembly, testing, inspection, and packaging of project samples
  • Assists with development and implementation of production automation and data collection systems
