About The Position

The Manufacturing Technician performs a combination of electronic/mechanical assembly, product testing, troubleshooting, and production support activities. This role works from drawings, schematics, and work instructions to build, test, repair, and prepare products for shipment while maintaining quality and safety standards. Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and assembly instructions
  • Strong manual dexterity, attention to detail, and hand-eye coordination
  • Mechanical and/or electrical aptitude
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office or similar)
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • Technical Certificate or Associate’s Degree in Electronics or related field preferred
  • IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies) certification preferred
  • J-STD-001 (Requirements for Soldered Electrical/Electronic Assemblies) certification preferred
  • ETA (Electronics Technicians Association) certifications preferred
  • ISCET (International Society of Certified Electronics Technicians) certification preferred
  • ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assembly & Production – Assembles electronic and electromechanical components, cables, and finishing products following drawings, schematics, and instructions.
  • Performs PCB assembly including component placement, soldering (through-hole and surface mount), and rework.
  • Uses hand and power tools (wire strippers, crimpers, drills, etc.) to complete assemblies.
  • Performs mechanical assembly of chassis, enclosures, and subassemblies.
  • Testing, Troubleshooting & Repair – Tests production units prior to shipment using standard test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.)
  • Troubleshoots and repairs failed or returned equipment.
  • Performs calibration and functional verification of products.
  • Assists Engineering with prototype builds and test activities.
  • Production Support – Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Kits parts, pulls orders, and prepares items for inspection or shipment.
  • Performs receiving, inspection, packaging, and shipping activities.
  • Maintains quality standards and follows workmanship guidelines.
  • Team & Continuous Improvement – Communicates issues and collaborates with Engineering, QA, and Production teams.
  • Trains or assists less experienced team members.
  • Supports process improvements and efficiency initiatives.
