About The Position

About the role: As a Manufacturing Technician II, you are responsible for performing functions associated with all manufacturing operations in daily support of products, processes, materials, and equipment in order to achieve production goals (i.e., quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and safety. Daily tasks include responding to equipment downtimes issues on the production floor, performing routine preventative maintenance on production equipment, and supporting Manufacturing Engineers (ME) in value improvement projects. Most of your time is spent on the production floor, working on equipment, and engaging with our Medical Device Specialists (i.e. MDS operators). Work Mode At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows an onsite work model, requiring employees to be in our local office five days per week

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience with High School Diploma and/or equivalent experience, training, or apprenticeships

  • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities; able to guide junior technicians and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated ownership of equipment reliability, performance, and long-term corrective actions.

Responsibilities

  • Apply mechanical, electrical, control, and pneumatic knowledge to troubleshoot and solve equipment and process problems for various automated equipment.
  • Identify and troubleshoot process, material, or equipment problems to minimize downtime
  • Identifies and implements corrective actions for manufacturing related issues.
  • Performs equipment setup and corrective, preventive and calibration maintenance as necessary.
  • Support equipment startups and shutdowns, which may include staying late to make sure equipment is in a safe-state.
  • Installs and validates equipment and processes in the production area to improve yield and/or reduce cycle time following the established validation procedure.
  • Modify existing and develop new tooling and fixtures
  • Evaluates and orders necessary equipment, tools and fixtures
  • Responsible for quality and adheres to manufacturing process requirements, the Boston Scientific Corporation Quality Policy and the Strategic Quality Process (SQP).
  • Proactively communicates quality issues and concerns.
  • Understands and applies a solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing and related principles.
  • Assist in Value Improvement (VIP) and implementing new equipment or processes or improving existing ones for cost savings
  • Train and provide technical support or direction to product builders and other technicians
  • Understands and applies flex strategy, rotates as necessary and works well with all group members, both within the team and cross-functionally.
  • Actively participates in Shared Responsibility and continuous improvement teams.
  • Understands, follows and promotes all BSC and site-specific policies and procedures.
  • Observes and complies with all safety rules and regulations. This includes QSR and ISO Standards.
  • Responsible for attending and passing all core required BSC and site-specific training (i.e. QS Basics, RTK, Lean Training)
  • Mandatory Weekend OT is required on a rotation recurring basis. Current OT requirement is minimum once (Saturday and Sunday) every 4 weeks.
