What You’ll Do Day-To-Day Demonstrate competency in the core areas of Safety; Quality and Procedural Compliance; Productivity; Attendance/Availability; Qualifications Maintained; and specific skills appropriate to the Technician's training. Ceramics Technician: Receives OJT to become Grinder and Inspection Qualified. Rods Technician: Receives OJT to learn three separate workstations which may include UO2 Rod Scan, Automated Passive Assay, Final Rod Inspection, HRR Laser Marker Station. Rod Manufacturing duties could include: • Basic parts preparation per SWIs/SOPs.• Performs basic assembly and fabrication operations. • May utilize scales, calipers, cutters, crimp tools, inspection tools and various other small hand tools in the daily operation of job. • Accurately enter/scan completed production data into system. • Set up and perform the most common or routine dimensional and visual inspections in an assigned area. • Moves material and product in the work area by proper handling method. • Keeps work area and equipment clean and orderly. • May assist with minor equipment maintenance, repair and inspection, following detailed procedures, and report defects to supervision. • During lull periods of production, may be required to work in other cost centers. This may include cleaning and wearing a respirator.• Properly handles hazardous materials.• Performs job duties in a safe manner. Physical Requirements The employee must be able to: •Remain in a stationary position, stand, and walk.•Stoop, kneel, crouch, twist at neck and waist.•Work on ladders, climb stairs, work on hoists (heights).• Reach, handle, grasp, fine finger manipulation, use hand and foot controls, and perform repetitive motion•Tolerate a moderate noise level in the production area.•Follow all processes and procedures to safely work around potential radiation hazards.•Use keyboard, mouse, and monitor for training, email, and equipment operation.•Lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. May occasionally be up to 45 pounds.•May be trained to operate a forklift; must be able to work all controls and frequently change from indoors to outdoor exposure.
