We seek a Manufacturing Systems Test Engineer based out of our office at 1624 Meijer Drive, Troy, MI 48084. Note, this position requires domestic and / or international travel, up to 50% of the time, as needed. As part of the Global Support (GS) Team, perform as the subject matter expert for the local engineering team to support all electronics manufacturing plants around PHINIA locations worldwide, from VPIPs projects up to SOP and during production. Develop all manufacturing KPIs required for the business cases during all new products / customers pursues. Develop electrical, thermal, and mechanical test plans for new products of electric control modules (ECUs). Create process flow, process control, and bill of process for the ECUs. Define specific processes, decision matrix, and validation for new technologies. Follow-up with the Product Team for any mechanical changes required. Standardize processes and technologies around the company's different locations. Lead, perform, and coordinate the engineering tasks required to design appropriate hardware and software for test equipment and use to evaluate parts, from prototype and validation up to final products (including in-circuit, middle-of-line, end-of-line, and UPS testing). Develop the test strategy for prototypes and final products for OE, which includes: Writing test requirements for final functional testing from prototype testing along with the testability software requirement (specific to the product); supporting the SSF team during the definition of customer software manufacturing information to be loaded into the product, as well as, providing support for the implementation of cyber security in the product and during the manufacturing test; developing test codes using National Instruments Test Stand, Lab Windows CVI, and LabView, etc.; developing or specifying Initial prototype testing code for Samples A and B; and standardizing test sequences for all full functional testers, and data base for MES systems. Provide guidance and support to global product development projects gates for manufacturing engineering. Provide global support to different electronics manufacturing plants for new products and re-localization of production lines. Create, develop, and lead with the GS team the manufacturing system design for all VPIPs projects. Provide support during equipment suppliers selection based on their technical proposals. Provide capital expense estimations and timelines for financial purposes. Standardize processes and manufacturing processes around company's different locations. Create and develop bill of processes for electronics products, performing the required studies. Provide R&D for new technologies with the scope of carbon neutral system design. Design, develop, and implement manufacturing processes and machinery that align with the product's specifications. Utilize problem-solving techniques such as Shainin to find the root cause from the Design of Experiments (DOE). Support with the DOE for Design For Manufacturing (DFM) projects. Provide technical support and expertise in test processes to continuously improve manufacturing performance, specifically as it pertains to productivity output and cost. Provide onsite support for prototype builds, pre-production launch builds, and safe launch phases. Develop the engineering documentation and requirements according to the specific process and gate of the project. Define requirements in ME processes for GP12 and Failure Mode Analysis during the safe launch of the project. Lead selection, specification, and design of equipment for assembly lines for electronic products, which includes writing equipment technical specifications and support to local team. Standardize equipment requirements, technologies, and suppliers around all company locations. Generate and maintain manufacturing documentation in accordance with the organization's standards. Create engineering documents and technical specifications.
