Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3 to 5 years of manufacturing experience, with prior leadership or supervisory experience
  • Experience in a custom or high-mix manufacturing environment strongly preferred
  • Ability to manage shifting priorities and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong problem solving, decision making, and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production reporting processes
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools
  • Experience supporting frequent changeovers and flexible workforce models
  • Familiarity with quality systems and root cause analysis tools (5 Why, Fishbone, A3)
  • Strong communication skills across all levels of the organization

Responsibilities

  • Leading Daily Operations
  • Oversee day-to-day manufacturing activities in a high-mix, high-volume environment
  • Execute production schedules while managing frequent changeovers and shifting priorities
  • Balance labor, materials, and equipment to meet delivery commitments
  • Identify and resolve production issues quickly to minimize disruption
  • Partner with Planning, Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance to keep operations running smoothly
  • Building and Leading a Strong Team
  • Lead, coach, and develop a cross-trained, flexible workforce
  • Assign work based on skill sets and evolving production needs
  • Train employees on multiple roles, processes, and quality standards
  • Provide ongoing feedback, performance coaching, and accountability
  • Create an environment that promotes engagement, ownership, and teamwork
  • Driving Safety and Quality
  • Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all policies and regulations
  • Address unsafe conditions or behaviors immediately
  • Ensure adherence to standard work, control plans, and quality requirements
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions related to defects or rework
  • Partner with Quality on audits, customer concerns, and continuous improvement
  • Continuous Improvement Focus
  • Lead Lean and continuous improvement efforts, including 5S, standard work, and waste reduction
  • Facilitate daily startup meetings and accountability discussions
  • Use metrics such as SQDC, OEE, and schedule adherence to drive performance
  • Participate in and support kaizen events and process improvements
  • Encourage team input and ideas to improve operations
