Requirements

  • High School Education.
  • Strong communication skills, leadership skills-relationship building, and group facilitation skills required
  • Computer skills required

Nice To Haves

  • B.A. or B.S. from nationally accredited college in technical degree (Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, etc.) preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred, preferably within the Folding Carton industry.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership to Production and supports shift teams and serves as a link to plant management.
  • Facilitates team meetings and intervenes as necessary to keep the team's goals and results consistent with company direction.
  • Works with team members to help them reach their full potential.
  • Responsible for Safety, product quality, production efficiency, equipment condition, and housekeeping.
  • Has the responsibility, authority, and is accountable to make decisions regarding job assignments, work priorities, and overtime requirements.
  • Facilitates day-to-day activities of the team
  • Responsible for shift staffing
  • Ensures all schedules and releases are met
  • Responsible for performance coaching/counselling
  • Prepares and distributes the daily shift report
  • Ensures that Safety/ housekeeping/ procedures and acceptable work practices are being followed throughout the shift.
  • Accountable for overall shift performance as relates to quality, waste, and production.
  • Notifies area managers, Maintenance Manager, Production Manager and Plant Manager of equipment breakdowns which exceed or will exceed two hours in duration.
  • Develops and implements safety procedures and supports the efforts of the HSE Manager in achieving safety goals.
  • Completes all shift accident investigations within a twenty-four hour period. Ensures that corrective action is taken.
