About The Position

Carpenter’s Latrobe Specialty Metals operations, based in Latrobe, Pa., was acquired by Carpenter Technology in 2012 and manufactures high-performance specialty alloys serving aerospace, energy and other demanding markets. The Manufacturing Supervisor will provide production employees with guidance, direction, and supervision in support of departmental operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, well organized and the ability to prioritize and make appropriate decisions.
  • Strong problem solving and project management skills.
  • Practical understanding of industrial/manufacturing principles, standards, methods, and practices.
  • Knowledge of disciplined problem-solving methods.
  • Ability to direct and supervise others, objectively evaluate performance, and train and develop others.
  • Able to work in a production-oriented environment and the ability to work overtime, weekend work and shift work.
  • Willing to work in a fast paced, ever changing work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Two year college degree preferred.
  • Two years supervisory experience in a manufacturing/operational environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide production employees with guidance, direction, and supervision in support of departmental operations.
  • Promptly address performance issues.
  • Actively promote all company policies and expectations, especially in support of safety plans and results.
  • Plan and schedule operations within assigned area of responsibility.
  • Maintain a positive work environment by regularly communicating with employees on the shop floor and respond to employee issues and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Maintain well-organized and productive work areas.
  • Work with others to achieve department and company goals and objectives.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
