About The Position

RFA Engineering ( www.rfamec.com ) is an engineering service provider dedicated to delivering our clients with timely engineering support and expertise. We are seeking a growth-oriented candidate to become an integral part of our engineering team. The selected candidate will work with an experienced engineering staff using state-of-the-art engineering tools & processes. This position will operate onsite at our customer's world-class engineering and manufacturing facility.   This is a full-time position with a full benefit package listed below that includes opportunities for professional growth, direct hire by our customers, and additional opportunities within our own organization. Manufacturing Quality Engineer This job involves responding to process and part quality issues to ensure robust and effective fabrication and assembly operations, and delivery of high-quality parts to the vehicle assembly line. Strong communication skills and ability to work and prioritize in a fast-paced environment are critical for success in this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in fabrication or welding quality engineering preferred.
  • Working knowledge of welding processes (MIG, TIG), weld symbols, and fabrication drawings.
  • Familiarity with GD&T, dimensional inspection tools, and fabrication measurement techniques.
  • Experience with structured problem-solving and root cause analysis methods.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with ERP or MES systems.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions and with suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver quality issue resolution processes and documentation to drive timely corrective and preventive actions.
  • Develop and deliver internal manufacturing process improvements to enhance product quality, reduce variation, and optimize fabrication efficiency.
  • Deliver quality planning, metrics, reports, and supporting documentation for fabrication operations.
  • Revise and deliver strategies to reduce warranty claims and field failures related to current production.
  • Revise and deliver supplier and line containment processes to control non-conforming materials and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively.
  • Support inspection plans, weld quality standards, and dimensional control documentation for fabricated components.
  • Partner with manufacturing engineering to evaluate fixturing, cutting, and welding processes for repeatability and robustness.
  • Perform root cause analysis using structured problem-solving methodologies (8D, DMAIC, etc.).
  • Work with suppliers and internal teams to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications for fabricated parts.
  • Develop and maintain control plans, PFMEAs, and work instructions related to fabrication processes
