A Quality Engineer is responsible for duties that include many elements involving materials and processes (M&P) along with auditing responsibilities, both internal and in preparation and leading of external industry and customer audits. Leading new project onboarding through capturing the quality requirements for facility, equipment and product. Other aspects of the job would require planner, contract, disposition, specification, and process review/implementation. Leadership of quality processes and activities. Process requirement identification. Effectively represent Quality in the onboarding of new manufacturing programs Creating and maintaining report template design required by the customer specifications. Identification of test methods and training of internal personnel on proper procedures and reporting. Knowledgeable and understanding of customer specifications and requirements. Responsible for internal audit activities including shop floor verification audits and internal work instruction audits. Participate in external customer and industry related audit activities. Write or revise various quality documents. Direct involvement with auditors on site. Auditing and approving vendors/suppliers. Research Quality Requirements for upcoming jobs. Support continuous improvement efforts with Manufacturing Engineering and Production. Lead and manage implementation plans on behalf of Quality including overseeing training, and specialty skill implementation. Review and approve Engineering planning to ensure Quality requirements are being met. Travel by vehicle and airplane for auditing.
