We have an immediate opening for a Production Worker on 1st shift at our Stow Street location in Kent, OH! Requirements

Prefer high school diploma or G.E.D. or equivalent experience.
Ability to read, write, add and subtract.
Prefer minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment.
Follows detailed instructions and standard practices, but decisions require some judgment to choose prescribed alternatives.
Requires initiative.
Must be knowledgeable of a variety of standard practices.
Conformity to standard safety practices and precautions necessary to ensure safety to others.
May direct and train others on occasion.

Responsibilities

Operates all assigned machinery as directed, while following safe operating procedures.
Assembles, fabricates and packages all products under the direction of the Leader or Production Manager.
Sorts, inspects, labels and marks products as required to ensure high quality standards.
Notifies Leader or Production Manager if foam does not meet required standards.
Checks assigned machinery daily for malfunctions and informs Leader or Production Manager of any problems.
Maintains high speed, as needed, in order to meet daily production schedules.
Removes all scrap material from assigned work area(s) when Utility Worker is not assigned.
Completes all necessary records and reports as assigned.
Works with a team to complete the required production schedules.
Maintains clean and safe working area according to the established safety procedures.
Can be assigned to other departments or locations, as production requires.
Participates in and supports Smithers-Oasis continuous improvement activities.
Supports and leads by example the Core Values of the organization.
Performs any other duties as required.
