Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline (preferred).
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering roles (required).
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft O365 applications.
  • Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings, 3D models, and GD&T specifications.
  • Proven experience converting engineering documentation (prints, manuals, specifications) into clear, operator-friendly work instructions.
  • Hands-on experience with composite materials, particularly in environments utilizing 3D woven composites and resin transfer molding (RTM) processes.
  • Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts, with experience participating in Kaizen events or structured continuous improvement programs (e.g., 6S).
  • Experience with process control and quality methodologies, including SPC, data analysis, ANOVA, DOE, PFMEA, PPAP, control plans, and root cause analysis.
  • Familiarity with CAD software tools.

  • Exposure to automation and robotic manufacturing systems (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, streamline, and update a large library (200+ items) of existing work instruction documents to improve clarity and usability.
  • Partner closely with Manufacturing and Production teams to understand current shop-floor practices and ensure documentation accurately reflects real-world processes.
  • Apply prior experience with engines, engine documentation, manufacturing equipment, and production workflows, including sequencing and scheduling considerations.
  • Develop clear, executable process plans and work instructions for use by production mechanics.
  • Assess current requirements and utilization of tools, equipment, and materials to support efficient operations.
  • Collaborate with external engineering groups as needed to address process challenges or hardware-related issues.
  • Serve as a technical resource for the team, offering guidance and problem-solving support.
  • Review and interpret process performance data to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
