About The Position

In Controls & Avionics Solutions, you will have the opportunity to help define and develop the next generation of avionics – whether it is fly-by-wire flight controls, full authority digital engine controls, or power management. The Manufacturing Engineer / Process Engineer position requires a candidate that is able to directly impact a value stream by using knowledge/ experience gained to monitor and improve processes using statistical process control and working to influence and lead production workers, be responsible for various sub-assemblies and help to manage external suppliers. This s a highly active, collaborative role and you will spend a lot of your time on the manufacturing floor supporting our assembly and manufacturing teams. In this Manufacturing/Process Engineer position you will make impacts in the following ways; Work directly with operations associates to identify trends in defects, cost drivers, and quality improvements to be made. Will be responsible for a number of program work instructions for accuracy and maintenance of drawing changes. Identify changes needed to the manufacturing area to support product processes. Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed fulltime on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of relevant work experience or 6+ years of experience in lieu of degree
  • Experience reading schematics/drawings
  • Strong computer skills
  • Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to lead project improvements
  • Ability to take ownership of tasks and drive change

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering and 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Greenbelt training preferred
