As a Manufacturing Planning Specialist ( Sr Mfg Planning Spec ), you’ll utilize your skills and talents to represent the production and material planning function on concurrent engineering teams. Essentially, you’ll compile and monitor monthly production schedules, create complex material structures in the material planning tool and identify process flow improvements and implement. You’ll also prepare labor and material forecasts as requested and interface periodically with supply chain or suppliers on delivery issues and problem resolution. This position is 100% on-site.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree
• An exceptional understanding of bill of material concepts and methodologies
• Solid understanding of the proposal process for both material and labor estimating
• Extremely proficient with material planning tools
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to problem solve utilizing analytical skills.
• Ability to multi-task while maintaining focus on details.
• Considerable skills in the Microsoft Office tools.
• Considerable understanding of the material planning tools, concepts, and methodologies.
• Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire.
• Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
• Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, production, and engineering.
• Interfaces periodically with supply chain or suppliers on delivery issues and problem resolution.
• Compiles and monitors monthly production schedules.
• Maintains forecast in the production and material planning tool and updates as required.
• Identifies process flow improvements and implements them.
