This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. As part of a hardworking team of engineers and specialists, Manufacturing Planners will be responsible for developing and supporting New Glenn’s Subassembly Manufacturing. You will provide shipside support on the manufacturing floor to subassembly, structures, and/or engine preparation across the New Glenn vehicle, with both expendable and reusable materials. Throughout the manufacturing process, you will be responsible in identifying, developing, and deploying methods to improve quality, reduce cost, and optimize build sequences and schedules. You will support the authoring and redlining of work orders, management of non-conformances, and provide continuous improvement of work orders through close-out reviews and updating of templates. Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree or graduated from a trade school in a technical field or related discipline and 1+ years related work experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Broad experience in hardware manufacturing: assembly, integration, instrumentation, cleaning, non-destructive testing, leak testing, final acceptance testing of integrated hardware, fabrication, machining, etc.
  • Solid understanding of Manufacturing Engineering processes and procedures, including planning systems
  • Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test procedures.
  • Experience in Aerospace or industrial manufacturing depending on Grade level (should scale as Assembly Mechanic experience)
  • 1+ years of experience developing detailed plans and schedules
  • Understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing including working knowledge of GD&T.
  • Strong written, personal, technical, and software skills (CAD, Scheduling, Issue Tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc)
  • Ability to develop processes compliant to industry quality systems such as AS9100
  • General proficiency with CAD.
  • General proficiency with GDT
  • Extremely customer-focused with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with teams of skills across large geographic distances
  • Must be able to support 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Shift (as defined by position needs)
  • Must be physically able to: Support production floor activities, Climb stairs and work in small areas, Lift and carry 40 lbs
