Do you want to help us build the DNA of tech.? Vishay Barry is currently seeking applicants for a Temp Manufacturing Operator. This person is responsible for assisting with the physical movement, organization, and handling of materials throughout the manufacturing facility. This position provides general labor and cross-functional support across multiple departments—including Production, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Shipping/Receiving—where operational needs arise. In addition to material handling, the role may perform basic mechanical and machining work such as operating a foot press, running a ZED machine (thermoforming plastic trays), and performing light sanding, cleaning or deburring of copper flanges and related hardware. The position requires attention to detail, adherence to safety and EHS standards, and flexibility to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Job Location: Attleboro, MA

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 0–2 years of experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or materials-handling environment (semiconductor, electronics, or precision manufacturing preferred).
  • Ability to safely lift, move, and handle up to 50 lbs.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude; able to learn operation of simple machines (presses, thermoformers, etc.).
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and capable of following written and verbal work instructions.
  • Demonstrated teamwork, flexibility, and willingness to cross-train in multiple departments.
  • Strong commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Move, stage, and transport raw materials, components, and finished goods between departments using carts, pallet jacks, and other approved equipment.
  • Support daily production activities by ensuring materials are properly identified, labeled, and available at designated workstations.
  • Assist with loading & unloading shipments in coordination with Shipping/Receiving.
  • Perform basic mechanical tasks such as: Operating a foot press for simple forming or assembly operations. Operating a ZED thermoforming machine to produce custom plastic trays for product handling. Sanding, deburring, or cleaning metal flanges and other components as directed.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with 5S/6S and ISO 9001/14001/45001 standards.
  • Follow all EHS and safety procedures, including proper PPE use and reporting of unsafe conditions.
  • Support basic preventive maintenance and cleanliness of tools and work equipment.
  • Perform other general labor or production-support duties as assigned to meet site needs.
  • Produce fixturing, tooling and components using CNC machines
  • Setup machine, maintain machine/tooling, perform PM and improve programs for efficiency and cost.
  • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
  • Performs Machine set-ups, and tool offsets.
  • Troubleshooting of problems or out-of-tolerance conditions.
  • Seek solutions to minimize down-time and initiative actions to avoid like problems in the future.
  • Use of drawings, prints, measurement hand tools, microscopes, and computers.
  • Evaluate tooling to improve product quality.
  • Responsible to hold tight tolerances.
  • Complete work accurately by following written instructions and adhere to required safety rules.
  • Must be able to learn new products quickly, work independently and be highly motivated.
