About The Position

Eaton’s IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Manufacturing Operator to join our team in Jackson, MI!
The position requires the flexibility to work 1st shift: 7 am - 3:30 pm, 2nd shift: 4pm - 12:30 am, and 3rd shift: 10:30 pm - 7 am.
The hourly rate for this position is $16.50 per hour. 2nd and 3rd shift hours offer an additional $1 per hour shift premium.

The Jackson, Michigan site is a unionized location. There is a 5-month probationary period, after which you will be considered a union member and begin paying union dues.
What you’ll do:
Direct and indirect hourly labor positions are responsible for hands-on product manufacturing, material movement and storage, assembly, and quality testing.

Requirements

• Minimum education of a high school diploma or GED completion required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing, warehousing, or distribution environment required.

Nice To Haves

• Associates Degree or higher from an accredited institution preferred.
• Experience with production and inventory tracking software preferred.
• Demonstrated aptitude and experience using computers, math, and blueprint reading skills.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe work place and follow safety best practices.
• Work on cross functional Lean/Continuous Improvement Teams to improve manufacturing process efficiency and customer quality and delivery performance.
• Assemble products using machines and hand tools.
• Test assemblies using test machinery.
• Inspecti parts using fixtures, gages, and other inspection equipment.
• Shipping/Receiving dock, stockroom, material movement, and packaging activities.
• Extensive use of computers to view and edit manufacturing documents, transact inventory, and enter/track/maintain/analyze production data.
