About The Position

The Manufacturing / Operations intern will support production teams by improving processes, troubleshooting equipment, and developing technical documentation to optimize efficiency and quality. Key duties include analyzing workflows, assisting with new product launches, maintaining safety standards, and utilizing tools like CAD or Lean methodologies. It is a hands-on role requiring analytical, problem-solving skills.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Basic knowledge of CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, industrial, or manufacturing environment.
  • To qualify for this position, former employees must be eligible for rehire, and current employees must be in good standing.

Responsibilities

  • Process Improvement: Analyze current manufacturing methods to enhance employee safety, improve efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality.
  • Engineering Support: Assist in designing, testing, and implementing new manufacturing tools, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Documentation & Data: Create, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and technical reports.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify root causes of equipment or product defects and assist in implementing corrective actions.
  • Lean Initiatives: Participate in 5S projects, waste elimination, and continuous flow improvement.
  • Data Collection: Gather data to establish production rates, labor standards, and cost structures.
  • Assembly Operations: Support day to day assembly line activity.
