As our Manufacturing Operations Engineer, you will support end-to-end hardware production and supply chain activities. Reporting directly to the Senior Manufacturing Engineer, this role combines hands-on manufacturing support, quality inspections, procurement assistance, and logistics management to ensure smooth scaling of PCBA and mechanical products with our contract manufacturers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
  • 3–7 years of experience in hardware/electronics manufacturing and operations (PCBA and mechanical assembly).
  • Solid technical understanding of manufacturing processes (SMT, injection molding, tooling, FAI).
  • Experience with quote analysis, component procurement, inventory systems, and international logistics.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to solve problems independently.
  • Proficiency in Excel, ERP/MRP tools, and basic data analysis.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to suppliers and contract manufacturers.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze quotes from contract manufacturers and suppliers; identify cost drivers, technical mismatches, and opportunities for optimization in collaboration with the Senior Manufacturing Engineer.
  • Perform first article inspections (FAI) on mechanical and PCBA components (T0/T1/T2 samples), conduct QC checks, document findings, and support tooling approval to achieve golden samples.
  • Assist in sourcing and procuring hard-to-find components; track lead times, manage allocations, and coordinate shipment of parts to CMs.
  • Develop and maintain assembly instructions, work instructions, and process documentation.
  • Support inventory management, demand forecasting, and ERP/MRP system tracking.
  • Build and optimize QC processes, inspection protocols, and yield improvement initiatives.
  • Manage logistics, freight forwarders, import/export compliance, tariffs/duties, and shipping documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement in operations processes and support cross-functional NPI efforts.
