About The Position

The Manufacturing Operations Engineer is a multi-disciplinary role responsible for ensuring the seamless flow of production, from raw material arrival to final customer delivery. This individual will serve as the backbone of the production floor, balancing technical quality inspections (CMM/FAI) with strategic operational improvements (ERP implementation, 5S, and Kanban). The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who can build systems that increase efficiency and ensure 100% quality compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive quality checks on parts and execute CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) inspections.
  • Lead First Article Inspections (FAI) to support new customer onboarding and process validation.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of all quality and production processes to ensure audit readiness.
  • Establish and organize a centralized tool room to optimize resource accessibility.
  • Prepare job routers for scheduled orders and manage the kitting of tooling and gauges to minimize setup times.
  • Monitor tool wear/availability and proactively order replacements to prevent production delays.
  • Lead the implementation and daily management of the ERP system.
  • Oversee the lifecycle of raw materials and tooling, from receiving and ERP entry to floor consumption and final shipping.
  • Coordinate the shipment of finished goods and prepare all required domestic/international shipping documentation.
  • Champion the plant-wide rollout of 5S principles to improve safety and efficiency.
  • Set up and manage Kanban boards to create a visual pull system for production.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for resolving immediate production bottlenecks and technical issues.
