About The Position

Responsible for coordinating and managing activities and equipment of Production department in Solution Prep and Packaging of Sample Collection products. The Manufacturing Manager will have shift supervisors as direct reports. Manages Sr. Manufacturing Manager / Plant Manager responsibilities in the absence of that manager.

Requirements

  • 10 or more years’ related experience and a clear understanding of manufacturing procedures.
  • Clear understanding and practical experience in Continuous Improvement
  • Ability to interface with management regarding duties and future development of department.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Works with planning and warehouse to confirm Input inventory levels to match production schedule.
  • Delegate to supervisors and leads as necessary.
  • Work with Shift Supervisors to build labor plan to match production schedule.
  • Writes, develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Interprets specifications and job orders to workers and assigns duties.
  • Assist in interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Investigates customer complaints related to products manufactured and packaged in this area.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of the department, and/or employees.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Confers with other supervisors and managers to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Participate in the quality management system.
  • Maintains equipment and instruments; troubleshoots equipment problems; oversees servicing of equipment when needed.
  • Performs Sr. Manufacturing Manager's responsibilities in Manager's absence.
  • Perform duties of workers supervised.
  • Adhere to divisional and corporate policies and procedures and applicable laws.
  • Support organization’s goals and values.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
