Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) Space Intelligence & Weapons Systems (SI&WS) has an exciting opportunity for an innovative, highly motivated, people-focused, and growth-motivated 2nd Shift Manufacturing Operations Manager to join our dynamic Experimental Systems Group (ESG) team at Kennedy Space Center, FL ESG supports a variety of government customers spanning technology domains and is a fast-paced, responsive development environment delivering new capabilities to customers rapidly and affordably. The X-37B Orbital Test Vehicle (OTV) is part of ESG and is the United States' most advanced, state-of-the-art reentry space craft. The ESG Second Shift First Line Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing a team of highly performing technicians, in a manufacturing and repair depot environment. This role involves ensuring that production goals are met, quality standards are maintained, and safety protocols are followed. The manager will also be responsible for employee development, performance management, and fostering a collaborative team environment. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Requirements

3+ years of leadership or management experience working in a manufacturing / production environment
3+ years of experience developing and implementing process improvements
3+ years of experience leading, checking, and implementing manufacturing plans
3+ years of experience with team building, developing and motivating employees
Experience applying and implementing lean manufacturing principles in a production system
Experience with Manufacturing Execution System
Experience developing project execution plans, schedules and budgets
An active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
A current Tier 5 (T5), formerly known as a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) (U.S. Citizenship required) or requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree or higher
Experience with Quality Management Systems and/or Boeing Production System (BPS)
Experience developing solutions to a wide range of complex technical problems, requiring ingenuity and innovation
Manufacturing Execution Systems common image (MESci) experience

Responsibilities

Manages employees performing activities in multiple manufacturing disciplines
Develops and executes business plans, policies and procedures and develops organizational and technical strategies
Acquires resources, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
Manages, develops and motivates employees
Collaborates with other functional teams to develop and implement strategies to improve production efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall performance
