About The Position

Manufacturing Manager Company: The Boeing Company The Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) organization has an opening for a Manufacturing Manager. This opening will be on 1st Shift and will involve leading a team in Seattle, WA supporting the 2-10 Machine Shop. This is an exciting opportunity to manage, develop, and motivate a high-performing team of Mechanics responsible for the fabrication and assembly of a wide variety of parts supporting both Lab Test and Flight Test operations.

Requirements

  • 3+ year of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of experience working with collective bargaining unit employees and an hourly union-represented workforce
  • 1 + years of experience using software applications for internet navigation, email, Microsoft Suite and/or other specialized computer applications
  • 3 + years of experience in a leadership role, leading teams or projects to successful completion.
  • Able to work weekend overtime on a rotational basis (Approximately 3 times a year)

Nice To Haves

  • Leadership (Formal/Informal) experience
  • Experience managing Key Performance Indicators within Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Manufacturing data
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a technical related field
  • Experience working with represented employees, manufacturing operations and familiarity with project management best practices
  • Familiarity with Lab Test and/or Flight Test Operations is a plus but not required

Responsibilities

  • Manages employees performing activities in multiple manufacturing disciplines
  • Develops and executes business plans, policies and procedures and develops organizational and technical strategies
  • Acquires resources, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
  • Manages, develops, and motivates employees
  • Oversight and ownership to an injury free and First Time Quality culture
