About The Position

Are you the go-to problem solver on the plant floor? Picture this: a production line goes down. You listen, observe, and trace the fault. You secure the area, disassemble the right components, inspect for wear, adjust control devices, replace or repair parts, and bring the system back up—validated with electrical and mechanical tests. You document what happened, update the CMMS history, and use predictive tools to keep it from happening again. If a new part is needed, you know how to source it. If a component must be fabricated, you set up the lathe, drill press, or grinder—and you can weld when required. Along the way, you guide junior techs and take the lead on small tasks, all while maintaining 5S and driving continuous improvement that delivers measurable cost savings.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• Associate’s degree with a technical emphasis plus 3+ years of general industry experience; or 5+ years of general industry experience; or completion of the ATS Technician Progression Program
• Strong grounding in electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and control systems with the ability to diagnose and repair
• Comfort using both standard hand tools and specialized tools
• Ability to travel when required

Responsibilities

• Own mid- to expert-level break/fix and preventive maintenance
• Analyze and resolve control system issues across software, hardware, and configuration
• Recondition and repair machine tools when precision is at stake
• Identify and procure parts, supplies, and repair items promptly
• Leverage predictive maintenance technologies to gather and act on performance data
• Keep CMMS records precise and review equipment history to inform maintenance strategy
• Operate machining equipment and perform welding as needed to make or repair parts
• Lead by example on 5S, housekeeping, and safety—spotting and addressing unsafe behaviors or conditions
• Mentor lower-level technicians and coordinate small-team efforts
• Advance your skills through on-the-job training and technical self-study
