The Manufacturing Manager (Input & Custom Materials) is responsible for performing and overseeing the processing of animal-derived materials for manufacturing and custom services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in Scientific field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years’ work experience in a scientific environment.
  • People and/or project management capabilities
  • Basic familiarity with lab equipment including centrifuge, pH meter, spectrophotometer, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Input/Custom Materials team to ensure on time delivery of blood-derived products for internal custom animal projects.
  • Oversee the processing, pooling, storage, and inventory of biomaterials, including rabbit bleeds, camelid and rabbit serum/plasma products, and PBMCs for internal and external customers.
  • Perform animal serum/plasma titering using ELISA, RRID, IEP, and other relevant methods to customer specifications.
  • Ensure team proficiency in production techniques including, filtration, adsorption, purification, centrifugation, buffer preparation, etc.
  • Ensure all laboratory SOP’s are followed.
  • Accurately and completely document all required data related to production records.
  • Effectively operate and maintain standard laboratory equipment.
  • Crosstrain with other functions within the department to maintain business continuity.
  • Perform critical regular laboratory maintenance duties that include but are not limited to dish washing, cleaning lab benches, clearing common-use lab space of unneeded materials, changing dialysis buffers, and reagent preparation.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management, which may not be listed above, that are necessary to accomplish our goal of improving lives by supporting scientific discovery.
