About The Position

The Manufacturing Industrial Engineer III will develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes and systems to support the efficient production of advanced drone systems in the aerospace and defense sector. This role will ensure high-quality, cost-effective manufacturing through process design, lean practices, and continuous improvement efforts. The ideal candidate has a strong background in aerospace manufacturing standards and can drive initiatives to improve variability, productivity, quality, and compliance in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5-9 years of aerospace industrial or manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in CAD and manufacturing software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ERP/MRP systems)
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and statistical process control
  • Excellent problem-solving, data analysis, and communication skills
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and standards
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense quality and compliance standards
  • Knowledge of automation systems or Industry 4.0 technologies

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement efficient manufacturing processes and workflows for UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) assembly and component production
  • Analyze production metrics, identify bottlenecks, and recommend improvements to reduce cycle time, scrap, and rework
  • Collaborate with design, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure manufacturability of new products and seamless production ramp-up
  • Lead lean manufacturing initiatives, including 5S, value stream mapping, and Kaizen events
  • Create and maintain documentation such as work instructions, SOPs, PFMEAs, and process control plans
  • Support the integration of automation and digital manufacturing tools to improve process capability
  • Conduct time studies, cost analysis, and capacity planning for current and future production needs
  • Ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards including AS9100, ITAR, and ISO requirements.
