About The Position

As the market share leader in exterior automotive lighting, NAL provides advanced lighting technology, engineering design expertise, and state-of-the-art production capabilities to auto makers based in North America and around the world. North American Lighting (NAL) is looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Technician - III to join our team. The ideal candidate will support the Manufacturing Engineering group through coordinating and performing pre-production part build activities and equipment trials, and overseeing the prototype warehouse.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED, plus 5 years of technical work experience in assembly process in a manufacturing facility.

Nice To Haves

Associate's Degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology, and Experience in the following areas is preferred:
Machine set-up
PLC and robotic programming
Hot plate, vibration, and sonic welding
Forward and signal lighting assembly practices

Responsibilities

Participates in activities required to build prototype and pre-production sample parts.
Assists with confirmation trials of assembly equipment.
Provides technical support for equipment installation, set-up, and troubleshooting.
Organizes and maintains an inventory of components and equipment needed for prototype builds.
Prepares, summarizes, and reports trial data for manufacturing and engineering groups.
Supervises and coordinates the work of hourly and temporary personnel in the prototype area.
