About The Position

This internship is an extraordinary opportunity to gain critical exposure to real projects while working side by side with Senior Staff. You will be conducting impactful analyses related to process improvements, material and associate flows, and packaging systems while providing assistance in the development, design, approval process and execution of projects related to your work product with an eye toward robotic automation. Our NWF’s Team is seeking a Full Time Engineering intern to work out of our Chicago office. This temporary position is seeking individuals currently enrolled in an accredited Undergraduate Engineering program. As a summer intern, you have the opportunity to participate in our 12 week program scheduled to start on May 18, 2026. Please note that there is no relocation or housing assistance provided with this internship. You will gain valuable experience and exposure on how an Engineering Team impacts a Company in the Food & Beverage Manufacturing space. While supporting a variety of Engineering tasks, you will develop technical, networking and communication skills invaluable to your future success. You will learn the basic principles of Engineering Project Management while assisting with project research, best value option analyses, preliminary design calculations and field work.

Requirements

  • Actively enrolled in an accredited Undergraduate Engineering program (Mech, Elec, Chem or Industrial)
  • Have recently completed your Sophomore or Junior Year
  • Must be 18 or older
  • Authorized to work in the USA at the start of this internship
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a vehicle to report daily to NWF Office in Chicago and/or related Manufacturing Plants
  • Possess an interest in Manufacturing Engineering in the Food & Beverage field
  • Have a strong desire to develop skills related to NWF’s work and projects
  • Must have competent inter-personal skills
  • Be capable of taking direction from Leadership
  • Have competency with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Must exercise responsible and ethical decision making while adhering to NWF’s Employee Employee Handbook and all policies and procedures
