About The Position

The Role: As the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you’ll be the technical leader for all facilities and maintenance teams as well as lead the deployment of all automation technologies and projects for the site. This role is ideal for a technical leader who thrives in ambiguity and is passionate about innovation and solving complex problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
  • Demonstrated ability to manage technical teams & projects
  • 10+ years of manufacturing experience
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and people leader skills

  • Experience in implementing automation projects (robotics, vision, autonomous material delivery, etc)
  • GMS CI Calibrator

Responsibilities

  • Directly lead a team of Facilities Engineers and Central Engineering resources supporting all site activities
  • Lead the automation strategy and activity for the site by actively managing and coordinating all automation projects including collaborative robotics (Co-Bots) and automated mobile robots (AMR's)
  • Serve as Facilities Area Manager (FAM); leading all facilities maintenance activities including electrical & mechanical infrastructure, powerhouse & wastewater operations, capital projects, grounds & housekeeping services, etc
  • Serve as GMS Continuous Improvement (CI) champion; leading the CI basketweave and driving GMS implementation across the site.
  • Lead all maintenance and skilled trades initiatives and strategies across the site.
  • Ensure compliance with national and local labor agreements
  • Chair the new technology committee where potential applications of new technology are introduced and actively discussed
  • Collaborate cross functionally with all departments within the site (GA, Body, Paint, Maintenance, Quality, GSC, etc) as well as with other internal and external stakeholders
  • Act as an active leader in Safety by championing WSS modules as well as Joint Skilled Trades Safety Team
  • Manage 3rd party services and contracts to ensure cost effectiveness and quality of service
  • Drive safety culture for contractors through active participation in the Safety Contract Management (SCM) process
