Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/medtech The Manufacturing Engineering Manager oversees the technical aspects of manufacturing processes, ensuring efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality production operations. They lead a team of engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and implement process improvements to achieve organizational goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering is required.
  • Requires 8 years of related Work Experience.
  • Experience in supervisory responsibility is required.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
  • Flexible in undertaking tasks and working hours.
  • Ability to operate effectively and maintain relationships at various organizational levels.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Decisive with the ability to set and prioritize the most critical tasks.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Proactive in using initiative to solve complex technical challenges and make informed decisions.
  • Skilled in leading change initiatives, driving process improvements, and fostering innovation within the engineering team.
  • Excellent command of both Spanish and English, in verbal and written forms.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry.
  • A working knowledge of relevant GMP, ISO 13485, ISO 14971 is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor manufacturing engineers, setting clear objectives and fostering professional development.
  • Design, analyze, and improve manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and ensure safety standards.
  • Defines and recommends engineering objectives; develops short- and long-range goals by participating with management in the decision process.
  • Work closely with R&D, quality assurance, supply chain, and production teams to facilitate seamless operations.
  • Acts as resource and point of communication between engineering and other functions within the organization.
  • Oversees/lead engineering projects related to new product introductions, equipment upgrades, and process validations, ensuring timely completion within budget.
  • Stay updated with emerging manufacturing technologies and implement innovative solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
