About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is a results-oriented leader who will empower their team or engineers, continuous improvement specialist, and maintenance to foster innovation and successfully deliver on project, program, organizational, and company goals. Will oversee facility technical planning, plant maintenance, and execution of all manufacturing/production related projects to improve quality, cost, delivery, and safety. The Manufacturing Engineer Manager also provides ongoing support for Value Stream leadership in the areas of productivity improvement and lead time reduction, takes a leadership role with Operations activities and is responsible for ensuring that all customer and internal cost requirements are met or exceeded.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum eight (8) years’ manufacturing engineering experience working in a production facility (preferably medium to light assembly).
  • Three (3) plus years of Engineering Management experience.
  • Proven ability to manage, lead and mentor a team of Manufacturing Engineers, Continuous Improvement and Maintenance personnel.
  • Strong emphasis on critical thinking, time management, judgment and decision-making.
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Highly skilled in Lean Manufacturing.
  • Ability to lead production style Lean Kaizens and PFMEA.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement tools; raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
  • Proven ability in developing budgets that support plant manufacturing and automation growth, including but not limited to planning, budgeting, and executing long term, high cost, manufacturing improvement projects that have favorable rate of return.
  • Understanding of Industry 4.0 concepts and ability to conceptualize a plan to move a manufacturing facility toward a more “Smart Factory”.
  • Highly skilled in PLC programming to support production automation.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Solidworks CAD, Ignition Cloud Software.

  • MBA Preferred.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt preferred
  • Familiarization with following software a plus: Access, Automation Direct C-More PLC, Ignition software, SQL Server, Minitab, AutoCAD, MS Visio, MS PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the investigation, selection, justification and appropriation of capital equipment for operations.
  • Responsible for the management, leadership and direction of direct reports ensuring that company policy and work rules are adhered to and activities are following PSG/Dover policies and procedures.
  • Develop and execute manufacturing plan vision for facility.
  • Propose & lead Kaizens to fix, stabilize, and sustain troubling manufacturing/technical issues.
  • Lead and support Value Stream Mapping activities to support PSG initiatives and goals.
  • Develop plant layouts with MS Visio for optimal lean production flow.
  • Design, plan, and execute manufacturing automation projects.
  • Provide daily technical support to production personnel.
  • Ability to create an Industry 4.0 vision plan and implement into the future of the facility.
  • Limited travel may be required.
  • Any other task assigned by management.
