Job Summary: The Manufacturing Engineering Intern will support manufacturing and operations teams in process improvement, machine cycle time studies, and documentation management. This internship provides hands-on experience in optimizing production processes and maintaining manufacturing documentation. This internship is located in Plymouth, MI and is fully onsite.

Requirements

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Attention to detail and organizational ability.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced engineering environment.
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and one to two years related experience and/or training ; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks, physical, and controlled substance testing.

Responsibilities

  • Support process improvement initiatives, including time studies and cycle time analysis.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve manufacturing documentation, such as work instructions and Bills of Materials (BOM).
  • Assist in coordinating cross-departmental projects and help implement new manufacturing processes.
  • Analyze production data and provide actionable insights to enhance efficiency and safety.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to implement best practices in production and process development.
